Goodnight Wilbur

Each night I have put 'Wilbur' down to sleep in a shoe box on my bedside table wrapped in a polar fleece blanket that I made for him. When he got hungry he would squeak loudly until I fed him. During the day I would put him with his Mum and brothers and sisters in a box that I have set up in the house so I can keep an eye on everyone.

'Wilbur' was consistently gaining weight but very slowly compared to his brothers who have gained around 20g compared to Wilbur's 5g gain. To my great distress I also realised the little fellow was prone to having seizures and this morning I discovered that he had passed away during the night.

Life is so fragile and often unfair but I will focus today on how lucky I am to have Wilbur's brothers 'Wombat', 'Mario' (AKA 'Muzz') and 'Squeak' (who is an absolute dead ringer for his Dad Ed.) to distract me.
