58. New WOOFERS

12th July 2018

New WOOFERS (Willing Workers On Organic Farms)

Anyone who knows me well, will tell you that I LOVE my animals. Interacting with them is the highlight of my day and so I was as excited as the children when we drove to Karnup to pick up four young guinea pigs.

These little ones are going to be given residence in the Vegetable Garden where they can roam freely and hopefully control the weeds between the raised beds. We have a heavy duty shelter for them plus plenty of converted flower pots and PVC pipes scattered around the area for them to hide in.

UPDATE 14th July 2018:

One of our lovely guinea pigs went missing last night. The moon was very bright and we suspect 'Nuddles' fell victim to an owl! We have taken photos of the remaining three who thankfully are all still with us. Letting our guinea-pig friends roam free may not be such a good idea after all SIGH. Back to the drawing board as they say.
