Our First Honey Harvest

We finally managed to purchase and prepare the honey extraction equipment and on the 25th of July we emptied the frames we had collected back in April. What we weren't prepared for is how high the viscosity of the honey would be in winter and nothing much was happening until we lit the potbelly stove and moved our extraction process directly in front of it!

Our first harvest weighed in at 13.95kg. This made up for the fact that we were unsuccessful in our efforts to maintain Hive 2 (Bee-quested) with the swarm all dying out/disappearing in just a couple of weeks.
